Who? What? How? Member of the Month: |
What is your full, birth name? Brianne A. Alcinoos (Yes, the “A” does stand for something, but it’s a secret! Shhhhhh…) Any nicknames you wish to share? Bri, Blond, Clutz, Bri-ster How old are you...really? 24 Years How long have you been in EGoV? I have been with EGoV since early 2006. What is your current position? I am currently the Second-in-Command. Are you single? Yes, currently am single. Currently also not looking. Any family? Oh lots of family!! Both of my parents are alive and well, though they live in the realm of Taraglass, a decent journey from Rhydin. I also have my Uncle Thadeon and Aunt Aris, with their twin girls Cyn and Nyx as my cousins. Nyx of course is the..umm…person who got me to come to these lands. And of course, there is my adorable doggie named Loki! What's your favorite treat? Treat…treat….I think would have to be ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough with a bit of chocolate sauce dribbled on it and some whipped cream and a cherry or two on top! Where do you go to relax? I go out into the woods, just to be with nature and relax away from the hustle and bustle of people. What skills do you possess? I have a few wide and varied skills. Most know that I am a mage, and such have some skills in that realm, particularly in dealing with the elements of Earth and Water. I also am an actress on the stage, though I try to keep from performances in the land of Rhydin and mainly work out in other lands. Also, my organizing skills are pretty decent, and I’m great at keeping Tristan in line! Any hobbies? Some hobbies of mine include learning more about ballet and attempting to be less of a clutz as well as currently learning how to play the fife. Motto: Live for today without looking back at the past with regret. Favorite Quote: “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” --Sir Winston Churchill |

There were whispers of ghosts, haunting those that survived. Cold and hungry children crying and begging for more - but there was none to be given. The winters were usually harsh in the mountain valleys, but this past one was the worst recorded in the last 1,000 years. Travelers and locals alike were trapped with their winter food quickly being depleted. No word of help could escape; either that or none could reach them... not till the lands thawed enough. And winter held control over the land and surrounding mountain passes till late-April. By then it was too late. The merchants that Adratha Al'thor traded with told him the news. The orphanage had run out of food this past winter. Usually what the home traded, or was gifted, was enough to see them through the season. Many parents, though, gave their life to see their children survive. With the growing number of orphans and extended winter season, food became sparse. Only a relative hand-full of children died, but how they died shocked those that heard. Starvation in a small town. "Don't look good this year. Shorter growin' season, lack of rain and with the snow gone - no water for crops. Dry heat it is I tell ye. Trade's bad..." one of the traders said. Adratha knew he had to bring it up to the guild. Something had to be done... |
Guild Member News
Welcome Chitose! Just this week, we welcomed a new member into the guild. Although I have yet to meet her, I wish her the best of luck and send a warm welcome out to her. Once again, welcome! [ChitoseSaiyuri] One could hardly believe she has been here a year, but Rose has been in EGoV just over a year. Thus, she recieved a loyalty ribbon from Tristan just the other week. Congratulations Rose! [IbardowinRose] Congratulations to Creed for earning at least five sparring victories. Due to this accplishment, he has earned a Sparing Service Medal. Good job, Creed! Letter from Guild Commander Llyr Greetings Guardians, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have done so much for EGoV...from recruiting, to participating in guild and forum events, to attending guild meetings and giving us your suggestions, comments, and input. Any guild is only as good as its membership, and I'm proud to say that we have some of the best members out of any guild around. As we look forward to the month of September, we're getting fairly busy if the guild calendar is any indication. There are few days this month where there isn't something going on, and likely to be even less once all our scheduling is completed. I'd like to encourage all of you to make use of the guild calendar on a regular basis, as it will show you current and upcoming events, courses, and meetings around EGoV and AoRG. Most items are posted there first, even before they make it into the weekly update. Also, we've had a slight change to the guild meeting schedule this month. The guild meeting will be held on Monday, September 24th at 10:00PM EST. Everyone is welcome to attend. Enjoy all of September's offerings, and as always, you can contact any member of the guild council with concerns, suggestions and questions at any time. ~Sir Tristan Llyr
Letter from Commander Alcinoos Greetings everyone! Autumn is nearly upon us this month. The last few warm summer days are lingering, but soon the leaves will change and fall will be thoroughly and completely here. I hope you all are enjoying the last days of summer and spend them enjoying the outdoors! Winter, dare I say that season, with its chilled hands will be here sooner than we think. This month, I would like to spend a moment of time informing you all of a new way to help out the peoples of Guardia (the providence in which the Eternal Guardians of Valor reside). Over the past year and a half, I have met and become acquainted with many of the peoples that live in these lands, which have been here for many generations or recently migrated here only a few weeks ago. But all of them come with their stories and their concerns. Now, while I would love to help them all myself, it simply cannot be done. So I am sifting through the letters, the conversations, and even just the looks of the peoples of this land we all call home, and each week post one upon the guild Message Board in hopes that you, the members, as well as the members of the Council of course, can take the time now and then to help out the people who look to us for leadership and aid, for protection and an example for their children. To each of you, I ask that you please check the message board each Tuesday of the week, looking for the notice of what is needed by these people. I hope that together, we can aid these people in many ways and be the Guardians they believe and expect us to be. By my Hand, |
