Greetings Readers of the Chronicle! Welcome to the middle of Summer!! It's been a hot one this year, but at least we've gotten our share of rain as well. The cold, bitter Winter now behind us and the busy Spring season come and gone, it’s time to come out of hibernation and working and catch up with friends old and new. I can’t wait to see everyone come out of the woodwork to celebrate the hot season. Yes, yes, I am sure you are all confused by the style of this letter and writing in general. I hate to disappoint, but Alenia is currently on vacation, so I felt the urge to write up a Chronicle for the Jolly Month of July! (And very jolly for all I hope it is!) I will do my best to start the month out well through the Chronicle! Please continue reading down to enjoy some of the traditional sections of the newsletter – such as Event Participation Results, a Letter from our Fashion-Desperate Leader, Key Meeting Dates, and other such joys. Also, a new section has been added this month, the “Who? What? How?” where one guild member will get a short interview, giving him or her the spotlight for the month. (This will also help with the whole “get to know your fellow guild members” task.) If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to drag out the ice breaker games….BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! In other news, the guild hosted our Drunken Daggers event just a week ago for the forum. I must say, there were quite the amount of light-weight drinkers that took part and did a bit of damage to their opponents when they mistook them for the dartboard! Overall, the event was a huge success, and all participants seemed to have a great time! That's all for now! Look for more mail and inner-guild activities to come your way from myself as well as the others on the High Council. By My Hand,

MALE ORGAN
According to a new book, 50 women were asked what they'd do if they had a male sex organ for one day. Most said, "Probably get a salary increase." MOOD SWINGS Two women are shopping and talking about their husbands. One says, "My husband said he was getting impatient with my mood swings, so he bought me a mood ring the other day to monitor my moods." "How'd that work out?" asked the second woman. "Well," said the first, "When I'm in a good mood, it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big, flipping red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond." |

Letter from Commander Tristan Greetings Guardians, Some of you may recall a guild newsletter known as the EGoV Update. This was a weekly publication sent in missive format which was designed as an overview of the week's happenings. While the chronicle provides more in-depth coverage of guild happenings, event statistics and other news, the update simply provided an overview of these items. We hope, within the next month or so, to resume bringing you this useful newsletter, thanks to several requests to resume publication. Also coming up this month is an important date: July 17th. On this date, we will be holding a guild-wide meeting where all members are encouraged to attend, share their ideas, opinions, or suggestions for EGoV. Members of the command staff will also be in attendance to provide a more in-depth perspective on what is going on in EGoV, as well as to answer your questions and concerns. As always, my door and those of the rest of the command staff are always open to you, not just on meeting nights, so if you are unable to attend, have a matter that you would prefer to discuss privately, or simply wish to stop by and say hi, please don't hesitate to do so. ~Sir Tristan Llyr

Matters of Guild and Forum
by Brianne A. Acinoos

It has been a couple of years that I have been a member of the Eternal Guardians of Valor, and as such, also a member of the Association of Rhydin Guilds (our forum for those who aren’t sure). When one becomes a member of EGoV, they automatically also become a member of AoRG. This partnership seems to have positive and negatives views when looked at through many people’s eyes. But in the end, for all matters that really count to an individual, the forum really doesn’t matter all that much. If one wished, one simply need not participate in events, apply for regulations, or attend forum meetings, and they might delete the forum newsletters delivered each week. From what I have heard, not just from members of EGoV, this is the wish of some. Others choose to be involved. They make the conscious choice to go out and meet others through events and meetings organized by the guild. But those who don’t make friends and families without it. Some apply for regulations, to be a certified healer within the forum or a certified hunter or any of the other avenues a member might pursue. Or they might attend forum meetings, and they might take a position within the Chancellory. Neither of these paths is wrong for an individual. Both are the fantastic and adventurous paths for any person to choose in life. Whether one chooses to be involved or not to be involved in activities run by the forum or not to be involved, that is their personal choice, and the High Council supports it. While we do encourage involvement, it has been and never will be mandatory. Yes, to be a leader means to be knowledgeable about the forum EGoV has chosen to be a part of, but that doesn’t mean we are jumping in and fighting every change or speaking our opinions loudly so that we are heard. In the end, that is not our priority. Our priority lies with guild. Long after the forum is gone, not that it expected soon, the guild will stand. Our existence and happiness is not based on whatever mandates the Chancellory is pulling out this week. The guild, first and foremost, is our home and our responsibility. While it can be frustrating at times, and even downright angering, it is important to remember that the forum does not need to have a central point in our lives. In all things, the Eternal Guardians of Valor is what truly matters and what should always be counted on. |
